all depends on how much insurance you want, in this type of plan you want? If a term, it is really cheap. The pure insurance, it is. You should see an insurance agent for. Local.

Moving out with boyfriend in Aug/Sept, how to split the cost of food?

Question by superpatzi109: Moving out with boyfriend in Aug/Sept, how to split the cost of food?
OK, so we’re splitting 50/50 on everything (rent, parking, telephone) and have our own bills to pay for (car insurance, Visa, car payments, etc) and everything seems straightforward and has a fixed price…although, how does everyone out there split on food? We don’t want to buy our “own food” because we’ll be sharing the food (having meals together, etc).
I don’t really want to “take turns”, since one person may end up paying X amount of money one week, and the other Y amount the next (it wouldn’t be equal, may be a significant difference in cost).
I’m trying to think of ideas…
how’s about:
We both get paid the same days: every other Friday (we both work together).
If we get a jar labelled “food” and we BOTH put in an equal amount of money (say 200 each as an example, that’s 400 to cover for two weeks). We use that money in the jar whenever we go grocery shopping. If there’s any leftover, we carry it over to the next month. Pretend there’s 40 left, we both put in 180 each the next pay then.

Ugh. I’m confused.
How do you guys split the cost of food in a live-in relationship, anything that works out?
Thanks.

1> since one cooks and the other does not, the NON cooking person should put in more
2> share according to who EARNS MORE–bigger paycheck puts in more

How much $ do you have left over after bills (and how much do your bills cost you?)?

Question by Hollywood: How much $ do you have left over after bills (and how much do your bills cost you?)?
Hi there,

I was wondering if people could provide me with a bit of an idea of how much money they spend on their expenses each month and how much they have left over after there bills each month. I’m doing a study for one of my classes and I’d really appreciate as much input as possible. Here is what I’d like for you to include:

-Your age group (14-19, 20-28, 29-40, 41-50, 51+)

-Province or State you live in

-Monthly Income (just your’s, not you spouse’s/partner’s)

-What expenses you pay (rent/mortgage, electricity, groceries, etc)

-How much the expenses cost you on average each month

-What amount you have left over after paying all your expenses (please try to include any and all fixed and non-fixed expenses (the more information I have, the better), such as: rent/mortgage, parking, electricity, rental/house insurance, cable, internet, cellphone, home phone, car lease, car insurance, gas, public transportation, cleaning supplies, toiliteries, groceries, pet supplies, prescriptions, clothing, bank fees and anything else you can think of.)

I know this is a lot to ask, what it would be so helpful. The project is basically about how much the average person needs to budget to live and whether or not the majority of people live comfortably (have money left over, etc)

No amounts need to be dead on and you also don’t need to answer everything. The figured we’re really looking for are rent/mortgage amounts, electricity costs and groceries. Also the major thing is how much money you have left over after ALL expenses and bills. I’m just looking for a general idea from people, but like I mentioned, the more information you can give me, the better. If a question makes you feel uncomfortable or you don’t want to answer, that’s fine. Please remember that this is confidential and I will not be using any personal information for the project other than the questions I listed above (age group, province/state, etc). No names or user ID’s will be tracked, saved or used.

Thanks so much to everyone who participates :)

No one here can guarantee they won’t. If the police smell something is off they are completely within their rights to call.
